Since launching his collection in 2005, Sati has gone through leaps and bounds. Accomplished the likes of celebrity clientele, featured on various tv and magazine publications and even showcased at the New York Bridal Show in 2009. Sati enthuses his designs with Sati-esque style of finesse and flair. His pieces are all individual and his bridal collection is to die for as you can see from the images in this post. Sati’s end goal with each of his clients is to ensure you feel like the bell of your ball!
This designer most definitely has a gift for fashion and making people feel and look like they have never done so before and that in itself is a remarkable quality in a person, and completely rewarding.
Below Sati kindly gave Shaadi-Esque a few moments of his time whilst travelling and answered some of our most intriguing questions...
♥ How did you get into Bridal Design?
I was helping my sister find her perfect bridal dress, she's quite particular so when she couldn't find what she wanted I was able to step in with the help of my Fashion Design lecturer. He then helped stitch her bridal outfit.

♥ How did 'Sati Takhar' start?
There was quite a buzz around my sisters bridal outfit and I started getting request's from her friends and then that was it it kind of started itself, I was already studying fashion design at university at that point, and then found myself being drawn more and more in the Asian bridal scene.
♥ What inspires your designs / collection?
I take on inspirations from vintage looks, old hand embroideries but with contemporary cuts.
A lot of the time it can be clients who I am designing for so these could be based on destinations and themes. Not so long ago I designed a bridal outfit which I incorporated patterns of my clients grandmother's bridal outfit. So I draw inspirations from everywhere.

♥ What sets your designs apart from the rest?
I love what I do.... And when a clients come's to me for her bridal outfit she buy's apart of me not just a wedding gown/lengha.
♥ Is there a focus on current fashion trends?
I like to keep away from fashion trends as I want my client to have something that was totally unique and not something she wore then because that was in fashion, something she can pass on to her grandaughter.
♥ Take us through a client meeting until the finished product.
Initially when a client come's in she will be shown the collection in-store, some client's bring in idea's they may have. When they are happy to proceed, I will sketch the outfit out in front of her, then we will have some swatches created, half way through her order she then has toile fitting, and then her final fitting, when her final bridal piece is unveiled to her.

♥ What are you current clientele demanding from you?
They are looking for contemporary cuts but with a vintage antique look.
♥ What are some popular requests from clients?
Red is most certainly the popular bridal colour, brides will often wear red atleast once to one of their events. I can show my brides a palette of so many colours but they will still opt to wear red. It is remarkable but 80% of brides still see this as the colour for their bridal outfit. Some have even gone as far as avoiding to wear red before their big day.
♥ How and where are your designs made or created?
My embroideries are all outsourced abroad, however my embroideries are done by hand. My Bridal pieces are all stitched in England.

♥ Have you designed a piece for anyone famous?
Mahima choudary, neetu singh, rishi kapoor, aditya raj kapoor, sophie anderten, footballers wifes alex best and lizzie cundy, Gurdaas mann, and recently lauren goodger from the only way is essex.
♥ If you could choose anyone (dead or alive) who you would like to design a piece for who would it be?
Princess Diana
