January Round up ...

January saw the start of a fresh new year and a truly awakening spring in The RS Bridal Group’s step. Not only can we welcome some fabulous Brides and Grooms to our Wedding Planners Books, but some more clients destined for great weddings who have booked themselves with rs Weddings’ Theme Design Packages.

But what you really want to know and what I really want to tell you about is how phenomenal Shaadi-Esque has been doing just this past month. Designers, Charitable activities, Wedding features, Chinese New Year, Musical Talent and our very first lifestyle feature. It has been a very busy month for Shaadi-Esque and indeed the RS Group.

We celebrated alongside Charmi Mandavia, designer and owner of Charmi Creations at the launch of her fabulous chic new Boutique in Pinner. We showcased Raishma’s designs and took a little look at how she has evolved as a designer and above all made her brand individual and highly regarded. The final designer showcased this month was Sati Takhar, whose couture pieces really made a mark with Shaadi-Esque and we really look forward to seeing what is in stall for all the designers and suppliers who feature with us.

Most recently we witnessed the Chinese New Year which was highly regarded as the Year of the Dragon.  Auspicious and longevity are symbolised by the Dragon, so this was one year we didn't want to miss out on. We featured three bright and beautiful rouge Dragon inspired boards which blew our readers away, they were fusion, individual and outright spunky!

Shaadi-Esque joined The RS Bridal Group in some rather selfless acts this January. We joined forces to bake some delicious yumminesses for the homeless shelter in the London Borough. For dessert that evening they enjoyed 'Lilac Cupcakes and Ordo Brownies'. Making me drool thinking about it. (Oh boy!)

We went so far as to feature a talented duo as they debuted their new track 'Lohri' which took the iTunes download charts by storm. Shaadi-Esque's little nugget of showbiz-nes!!

Let's not forget our new Lifestyle feature, of which Dishoom in London got their first serving. It was all about the bollybelini's. And then some! :)

We have featured some amazing weddings and some even more fabulous bride's and groom's. We love sharing special weddings, unique ideas or just special moments. A picture does say a thousand words, and Shaadi-Esque readers know it!

Specially for January we were fortunate to attend an engagement party for which we were thoroughly impressed with, we observed, thoroughly enjoyed, and blogged at our hearts content.

So What a busy and pretty phantasmal month January has been. Quite the start to the year and there has been some fond, memorable posts that we wish to continue with.

If you are a photographer/ Bride or Groom / Wedding Supplier and you would like to feature your weddings or services then just visit our submissions page or get in touch on blog@rsbridalgroup.co.uk.

If on the other hand you are a bride and groom and you would like a write up of your wedding or engagement,  much like our Attended Wedding, on Shaadi-Esque or to keep in your album - get in touch also. Words can be valuable even without pictures.

Looking forward to February and all 2012 has to offer. Best of luck to all of our suppliers and features for 2012 is the one to watch!

Keeping you inspired!

{Exquisite Bridal Wear} Sati Takhar Couture Designer

I would like to warmly welcome Sati Takhar to Shaadi-Esque, a young pioneering talent in the Bridal Couture Fashion Industry.

Since launching his collection in 2005, Sati has gone through leaps and bounds. Accomplished the likes of celebrity clientele, featured on various tv and magazine publications and even showcased at the New York Bridal Show in 2009. Sati enthuses his designs with Sati-esque style of finesse and flair. His pieces are all individual and his bridal collection is to die for as you can see from the images in this post. Sati’s end goal with each of his clients is to ensure you feel like the bell of your ball!

This designer most definitely has a gift for fashion and making people feel and look like they have never done so before and that in itself is a remarkable quality in a person, and completely rewarding.

Below Sati kindly gave Shaadi-Esque a few moments of his time whilst travelling and answered some of our most intriguing questions...

♥ How did you get into Bridal Design?

I was helping my sister find her perfect bridal dress, she's quite particular so when she couldn't find what she wanted I was able to step in with the help of my Fashion Design lecturer. He then helped stitch her bridal outfit.

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

♥ How did 'Sati Takhar' start?

There was quite a buzz around my sisters bridal outfit and I started getting request's from her friends and then that was it it kind of started itself, I was already studying fashion design at university at that point, and then found myself being drawn more and more in the Asian bridal scene.

♥ What inspires your designs / collection?

I take on inspirations from vintage looks, old hand embroideries but with contemporary cuts.

A lot of the time it can be clients who I am designing for so these could be based on destinations and themes. Not so long ago I designed a bridal outfit which I incorporated patterns of my clients grandmother's bridal outfit. So I draw inspirations from everywhere.

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

♥ What sets your designs apart from the rest?

I love what I do.... And when a clients come's to me for her bridal outfit she buy's apart of me not just a wedding gown/lengha.

♥ Is there a focus on current fashion trends?

I like to keep away from fashion trends as I want my client to have something that was totally unique and not something she wore then because that was in fashion, something she can pass on to her grandaughter.

♥ Take us through a client meeting until the finished product.

Initially when a client come's in she will be shown the collection in-store, some client's bring in idea's they may have. When they are happy to proceed, I will sketch the outfit out in front of her, then we will have some swatches created, half way through her order she then has toile fitting, and then her final fitting, when her final bridal piece is unveiled to her.

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

♥ What are you current clientele demanding from you?

They are looking for contemporary cuts but with a vintage antique look.

♥ What are some popular requests from clients?

Red is most certainly the popular bridal colour, brides will often wear red atleast once to one of their events. I can show my brides a palette of so many colours but they will still opt to wear red. It is remarkable but 80% of brides still see this as the colour for their bridal outfit. Some have even gone as far as avoiding to wear red before their big day.

♥ How and where are your designs made or created?

My embroideries are all outsourced abroad, however my embroideries are done by hand. My Bridal pieces are all stitched in England.

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

♥ Have you designed a piece for anyone famous?

Mahima choudary, neetu singh, rishi kapoor, aditya raj kapoor, sophie anderten, footballers wifes alex best and lizzie cundy, Gurdaas mann, and recently lauren goodger from the only way is essex.

♥ If you could choose anyone (dead or alive) who you would like to design a piece for who would it be?

Princess Diana

♥ What is in the future for Sati Takhar designs?

2012 see's the launch of our new bridal collection which will be instore from february 2012.

I would like to thank Sati so much for taking the time out to answer our questions. Sati is really a wonderful designer, individual and creator - and this is showcased in this work.

Do have a look at the Sati Takhar website www.satitakhar.com - you will find some more traditional bridal gowns, some couture pieces and even a groom's collection. Get in touch with Sati by emailing him on enquiries@satitakhar.com or give him a call and book in a consultation 0121 551 3900.

{Inspiration Board} Chinese New Year for the Chic, Glamorous and The Ultra Quirky

Being The Chinese New Year and in true Oriental fashion this blog post is all about red tones and fusion oriental design.

Just below in the first inspiration board, we explore some creative crafty ideas with a pretty dessert table, a fusion bridal gown and a super classic wedding cake to tone this inspiration board and really class it up a bit. You may notice this inspiration board is a toned down version of a classic Asian/Oriental inspired theme, namely for its base tone is white. Traditionally the base colour will be red and the sub tones will all be gold or deeper reds etc. The white makes it all very clear cut - clean and that bit more chic.

The high heels are the finishing touches to this simple chic wedding theme, as all inspiration boards need that little spunky character that adds dimension.

This I would absolutely label the Glamour inspiration board, purely because everything from the number of layers in the cake, to the slim, figure extenuating gown to the Fab bouquets that are not in the slightest going to over rule the attention of the dress - all are components of what makes up a glamorous look.

When I say glamorous, I really mean to say highly adorned - classic yet absolutely stunning. I do not mean to say Over the Top, Trying too hard or not making the right statement.  This inspiration board is just simple but elaborate, for example the dress is elaborate but the detail is simple, the cake slices are elaborate but the icing is simple, the richness of colour of the bouquets are elaborate, but the design is simple. All these components make up a fabulous wedding sleek wedding that doesn't try too hard. (I reeeeeeeeeally hope that makes sense.)

This is by far my favourite. Its a retro, Ultra quirky wedding inspiration fun. From the cute little car, to the converses to the tea set. All unbelievably different and really a unique style. And that is all I will say on the matter!

I hope you all love these remarkable red inspired, inspiration boards. They is something here for everyone, the Chic, the Glamour hungry to the ultra quirky. All inspired by the Chinese New Year and The Year of the Dragon.

Keeping you Inspired!

{Exquisite Bridal Wear} Charmi Creations Official Boutique Launch

Sunday 15th January 2012 saw the launch of Charmi Creations new Boutique in Northwoods, Pinner where Shaadi-Esque was invited to pop along for a sneak peak at the brilliantly chic store and bridal collection. From Industry professionals to journalists attended the event alongside some wonderful friends and family of Charmi herself.

Charmi Mendavia worked a white lengha with fabulous detail and silver embroidery, with a net panel covering her middrift. It was a remarkable piece and even though the roads were frosty and it was three degrees outside, I would rather catch the cold then cover up an outfit like that!

The collection alone blew my mind! These pieces were exquisite, I found a few gowns destined for greatness (ahem my wedding). The designs are intricate and quirky, not too overwhelming, just the right amount of wow and every bit of elegance. Lifting a lengha I thought would take my arm off actually proved to be much lighter in weight than my mind was willing to comprehend.

On display the Bride and Groom's collection were draped on models. Not to forget the jewellery collections. As you may already know, not only can Charmi match designs and colours of a Bride's outfit to the groom, but she can design a whole jewellery collection for you, based on the stonework and colours of the outfit. Does this lady cease to amaze me? No I think not!

There was lavish jewellery spread across the store (brought a twinkle to my eye) and bridesmaids gown samples, more fusion gowns, and groomwear. It was all so beautiful and Boutique-Esque, it looked straight out of the pages of a catalogue.

The evening was filled with great food, music and sparkles from the new designer collection and the shiny new boutique ready for its debut. The store is now open so why not check it out, for it is worth the visit.

{Exquisite Bridal Wear} Raishma through the years - the evolution of design

I would like to warmly welcome a wonderful, revolutionary bridal designer whose work inspires many and fills the hearts of brides-to-be all over the world and back. Raishma is a British-Asian Bridal designer whose focus and whose identity is through ‘Fusion’ designs. Her work has been worn on celebrities, she has featured in many publications as well as TV media and is a remarkable pioneer in her industry.

Clip of Raishma, courtesy of Wedding TV Asia

Raishma’s service is next to none, each bridal outfit is a “couture piece of the highest quality fabrics, finishing, design and fit.” Each piece is a decadent artwork of finery and beautifully hand stitched embroidery. Owning a gown from Raishma is a real honour.

Much like any designer across any industry we see changes in their style and over the years we watch them grow. Raishma is one designer who has developed and matured and really made her mark within such a competitive industry; where new ideas and new ground breaking styles are demanded from each season.

Beginning her journey in Wembley with her first flagship store in 1998, Raishma had merged into bridal gown designs through her clientele and her passion for what she does best. Since the opening of this store, Raishma’s unique Fusion branding has taken off and she really has established a name that is high end and in demand.

Raishma has taken some time out to take us through her designs and the changes in her style from 2003 to 2011 and beyond. Take a look at each of her designs and imagine them elegantly walking down a catwalk. Utterly Lush!

Pink outfit 2003; “The powder pink chiffon jacket and bias cut skirt, with a silk corset bodice were very fusion and versatile to wear. The jacket could be worn after the wedding with any separates. This look was very popular in the store at the time.”

White gown 2004; “I designed a white bridal collection to show in New York that year, and this was one of them. I was very proud of the quality of the cut and silks that we used in this gown, and I felt the standard of our couture gowns had been surpassed with this collection.”

Blue outfit 2005; “I designed a whole collection based around the jamavar silk in this stunning peacock shade after being inspired by the gold and blue colour scheme. This outfit was very fashion forward for bridal wear at that time, with a layered skirt and corset, with a separate asymmetric cut away dress on top.”

Ivory outfit 2011; “This stunning vintage gown is from our current collection. The dress has a hand embroidered bolero, and the delicate and intricate embroidery is a key detail associated with the brand.”

The Future ...
For the coming years, Raishma will continue to bring her bright spark to each of her couture pieces, with intricacy and immense detail, her designs will only inspire even more Brides and create the perfect setting for a newly wedded couple. Bride's look like royalty in a hand made Raishma Gown and well, the Groom's will be mesmerised.

Raishma's talent is effervescent, it seeks attention at its perfection and delicacy. If only you could be a bride everyday!

A little treat, one of Raishma’s Fusion Bridal Designs Fashion Show at the Asian Wedding Exhibition 2011.

On looking through Raishma's portfolio, you must take a look at these gowns - they are my favourite:
♥ This very pale lemon, chic looking outfit with a brilliant figure extenuating style

♥ Fabulous Red Bridal Grown, with long train and exquisite detail

♥ My future Wedding Dress - beautiful Red and Gold Western style gown with luscious red and gold detail.

♥ Tradition at its fines with a red and turquoise lengha.

♥ An out of this world amazing white bridal gown with gold detail and a brilliant overlay - quite fab!

You can view more of Raishma's phenomenal Bridal Gowns on her website. Get over to her facebook page and reach out to her here.

If you would like to visit the store itself why not pop down:
Raishma Couture, 37 Green Street, London, E7 8DA.

{Inspiration Board} Chic Secret Garden with a Colourful Retro Perspective

So Monday morning is among us, wipe away those sleepy eyes and have that double shot of espresso that will get you jumping off the walls to start this very gloomy week. To help you out a little and shocking you into this week I would like to introduce to you a retro chic inspiration board. Full of quirky ideas and fun colours.

I love putting together these inspiration boards for brides-to-be planning their big day. You can get so creative, create pretty much anything from a simple idea. This retro chic idea is half DIY and half damn-right awesome!

1, 2, 3, 4

The dress is a quirky, retro, fun styled number and you know what - it is great for hiding any unflattering areas on your body which you want to hide. So we are already off to a great start. This wedding I picture to be outdoors, in a field with long and short grass, wild lavender growing, a wonderful garden area with a trimmed hedge maze, amazing ivy and white roses draping from the trees and around a huge entrance gateway. Almost like the Secret garden, but instead of children you find a retro chic wedding kitted out with a scooter or 60's caravan - are you seeing my vision now? These candles lit in jars make a crafty yet cool idea that will look pretty on any evening. The more candles you add the more funk you contribute to the scene. You can't have a retro theme and be drinking malibu and Coke??!! Oh NO! These multicoloured 'pop' styled bottles add a little something extra to a fun-filled wedding theme. And what colourful wedding would be complete without some tasty macaroons. Mmm!!

So folks here you have it - my Secret Garden with a Retro Chic Style! I hope you love love loved this and I wish you the most fab monday and a brilliant week ahead!!!

Keeping you inspired!

A touch of gold, heaven is not just a dream

Dare I say that this is one of my all time favourite wedding inspiration boards! It is like something out of 'Fortnum and Mason's' Window Displays. Could it be described as Godly? I would say it is a close second. The colours, the styling, the elegantly designed table layout are all symbols of class and (what is a stronger word for beautiful?) - Finesse?!!

If you are a bride, print this inspiration board out, save the image on your computer, keep it in your minds, for this is the winning bridal theme of 2012! Yep - I said it!  2012! Perhaps that is a little ambitious, seeing as we are still in the first week of January.

1, 2, 3, 4

A Bespoke Design Service: As a wedding designer at rs Wedding Consultants, I am posed day in and day out with requests from brides who want an unbelievable wedding theme that is unlike all others. From Black tie, and James bond's 007 theme to Cirque du Soleil and Vintage Chic. These are not easy tasks I will have you know, but I put a lot of time and research into these design proposals that keep my clientèle flowing. It is a unique service that I offer and one I value highly. To get in touch drop me an email at r.singh@rsweddingconsultants.co.uk and I will love to give you a call back to discuss your requirements.

If you love love love this inspiration board, please do comment, like our facebook page and tweet us! We love to hear from you.

Keeping you inspired, have a wonderful weekend!!

{Wedding Feature} Beyoncé - Best Thing I Never Had

Last night, I was sitting in a café with a dear friend of mine, and Beyoncé's Best thing I never had played on the plasma. We both watched the video and my friend asked me whether I had blogged about this video because of all the wonderful wedding and bridal dresses in it. I replied, 'NO! But that's a brilliant idea - better late than never!' So here goes, if you haven't done so already, have a look at the video is really does have some magnificent wedding designs and Beyoncé herself looks stunning and radiant.

At the start of the video Beyoncé wears sexy white lingerie by Agent Provocateur, she then slips into a strapless ballgown with an embroidered and embellished bodice by, we’re told, the boutique Baracci Beverly Hills. For the reception, she wore a dress she could dance in, an ivory Vera Wang V-neck style. Beyoncé keeps a double bun, throughout the wedding ceremony and lets her hair out at the reception to coordinate with the relaxed style of her Vera Wang dress.

You just can't fault Beyoncé for anything in this video!
