Research make-up artists and hair stylists that are in a practicable travelling distance to you. If they have a website check out their photo galleries of their previous bridal work. Get recommendations from friends of bridal make-up artists and hairstylists who they know does great work – keeping in mind the theme of your wedding.
Once you have shortlisted the make-up artists and hair stylists you would like to have for your big day, you need to find out which one(s) are available for the date of your wedding, if they are able to travel to your location for you to get ready and if there would be additional charges for travel and if so – how much. Once you have decided which one you would like to book with – don’t delay! Well saught after hair stylists and make-up artists get booked up fairly quickly and you don’t want to miss out by booking it last minute. Also book your trial at this time too. Trials are not always practically possible. The artist may live too far away from you to travel for a trial or she may not be available when you are, but, having a trial are recommended as it allows you, the bride, to communicate your wants, needs and any concerns you may have - but most of all to ensure you are confident and look amazing for your special day. So make sure this is booked in advance too (roughly 8-12 weeks prior to the wedding day).

If you are having a trial it should be done around this time as it allows enough time for changes to made if required and another trial to be booked if you feel it is necessary. It is totally up to the bride if she wants her bridesmaids, maid of honour and or/ mother of the bride to have a trial too, but, it is not completely necessary. Your make-up artist & hair stylist at the trial will consult with you over the looks you would like for the big day – this is the time for you to show her any images you have collected from magazines or have printed from websites, talk about the theme of the wedding, colour schemes, concerns you may have about allergies etc, accessory pieces you may want to wear in your hair and bring these to the trial to try them with the different looks. They will then trial a few different looks for you based on the information you have given to her already to see which one you prefer. You could also ask to take photographs of the different looks being trialed so you can look over them in the next coming weeks to help you decide which look you would like to go for if you are still undecided.
Start a skin and facial routine in order to best prepare your skin for the big day. By drinking plenty of water, having a daily facial cleansing routine and treating yourself to a pre-wedding luxury facial will ensure your skin is glowing, blemish and pimple free so when your make-up is applied you look absoloutely radiant.

Treat your hair to protein treatment. This will have your hair looking healthier, stronger and feeling softer than ever, giving your hair a youthful look. Something every bride is sure to love.
If you are an asian bride and are having a traditional asian wedding the bridal mehndi will need to be applied the day before the ceremony to allow the full colour to come out to show of the intricate patterns.
The time has come and it is your special day. Your skin is glowing and you can be rest assured that your artists will turn up on the day on time and replicate your desires for your hair and make-up on the day just as discussed from your trial and your consultation(s). This is the time for you to be relaxed and stress-free and ready to enjoy the day (and night) ahead.
